Nightfallen Exalted and Full Discography!

Full Discography might seem like a weird achievement to get excited about, but fuck Gurubashi Arena.

I actually ended up getting REALLY lucky.  I thought this was going to be one of those futile achievements.  I ended up running down around 2:30, only to find a good 8 people already camping for it. Great.  I went and did some other RL stuff (internet cut out) and when the internet came back on at 2:50, I figured, WTH, I'm already up at 3am, the worst that's gonna happen is I'm going to get steamrolled and figure out that I'm going to have to pay a raid of 40 to help me get it.

So the guy drops the chest, and I don't even bother to try to go after all the other people.  I just try to loot the chest while everyone else is at each other's throats, except there is one druid moon firing me.  Luckily I'm disc, so I just bubble, and try to loot again, moon fire, repeat cyclone, repeat, moon fire, repeat.  Then, another hunter pops up beside me, half dead, and starts looting the chest.  Druid decides to moon fire hunter first, and BING, open chest!

I learned my Angelic Music roll, dinged my achievement, and GTFO of there!  Talk about huge adrenaline rush and relief!

So, the moral is, even if you think an achievement is going to be a huge pain in the ass, just go for it.  You might just get it done.  So relieved that only took one day.

Other than that, I got Nightfallen Exalted.  Its nice to have one set of world quests crossed off the list to worry about (though, I do end up doing them for the rewards anyway.) I do need to figure out a game plan for finishing up my daily quest achievements, since they seem to be going by the wayside.

I've also outgeared my class hall gear and bought my double legendary research for my whole 0 legendaries, so I've also lost the need for mass class hall resources, so that frees up a lot of farming time as well.

Anyway, here's a pile of achievements.  I've been maintaining my surplus, which is nice because I've had a few days when I've been feeling burnt-outish, so I don't log on everyday.  But, mount drought, unfortunately, continues.

Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake!

Well, I didn't farm it from Stonecore, but I snagged it off of the BMAH.  So, kind of cheating, but I did grind up the 200,000g for it, so I guess I still farmed it in a way. I was actually surprised it went for so cheap, but other people probably figured "She's outta her damn mind, its farmable!"

Very true, but I am honestly glad that is not a farm I have to do anymore.  It probably would have been maddening, and I actually did farm it for a couple days.  Constant resetting until you're out of instances is pretty boring.  Plus, I still have to do it for Stratholme and Baron Rivendaire's mount, so I'm glad to only have one of those types of grinds to go.  (Unless the BMAH wants to be generous again.)  So I'm not rolling in more mounts, but I'm pretty ecstatic with what I got.

That said, I'm pretty discouraged by how far away I am from Mountacular.  231/250.  Lots of people already have their 300 mount achievement, so I feel way behind the curve.  It doesn't help I've been slacking off on weekly raid runs and old school dailies since I've had so much to do this expansion.  And I haven't been leveling alts like I wanted to.  I've been mostly focused on world quests and working on gear and professions.  But, there's no reason not to focus on current content before the content drought hits I suppose, I haven't been on 'cutting edge' of an expansion in a while.  (Didn't play at the beginning of MoP or WoD.)

Anywhoo, I've really slacked on updating my achievements.  I have a whole list of them, and still in the negatives.  (But doing the math week to week sucks when I skip weeks, I need to stop it.)

Finishing Class Hall

Since I've been finishing my class hall, and that has caused an explosion of stuff to do on my priest.  Definitely not a bad thing.

Though, since it is Brewfest tomorrow, I am definitely feeling the leveling alts itch.  Hallows End is coming up, and considering the RNG gods are against me having the headless horseman's mount, the more alts the better.

I have one alt to level 103.  (My herber/farmer, because 2 million gold.)  I guess I need to make a better effort to level the rest of them, though I'm not sure how many I will actually level.  I suppose if I juggle rested XP with all of them it won't be too bad.  Though, if I decide to raid the preparation for raiding would cut into leveling time.

Well, always better to have too much to do than not enough!

In other news, the RNG Gods decided to send me a two second sprinkle amid my mount drought.  I picked up the Reins of the Llothein Prowler.  Definitely not rare by any means, but its nice to have!  And its a really cute mount too.

Achieved:
-Legion Archaeologist
-Legion Aquaculture
-Black Rook Hold
-Assault on Violet Hold
-Legion Fisherman
-Heroic: Black Rook Hold
-Heroic: Eye of Azshara

Queues maybe fixed? Braving dungeons.

As of now I'm not really working on any project in particular, I still have a lot of normal stuff to do for my character.  Just focusing on world quests and the like.  The gear you get from world quests is actually pretty good...makes me want to skip dungeons altogether.

I have braved a few lately.  When the other players IQ isn't sub-100, the run goes fine and I don't have problems healing.  I had one bad group last night.  The tank Would. Not. Stop.  Was pulling multiple trash packs, two of the DPS were bitching the entire time, and the mage didn't understand the concept of not standing in AOE.  And didn't understand the concept of his/her ice shield.  And kept running into walls.  Despite this, we never wiped, so hopefully that means Disc is okay/I'm an okay healer.  The other group went off without a hitch and wasn't a bad heal at all.  DPS not standing in fire and tanks not pulling 3 packs at once makes a huge difference.

This is was normal though.  Still haven't braved heroics.  I think I'm going to run everything on normal first though, so I don't go in completely blind to the mechanics.  EoA is going to be a bitch though.  I can feel it and I've read it.  It was also my first healing experience this expansion, talk about trial by fire.  (Or trial by Serpentix.)

This expansion is still new enough I'm not having to try very hard to get new achievements.  It will be nice to have a stockpile again in case I get busy.

Achieved:
-Explore Val'Sharah
-Cage Match
-Brokenly Superior
-Forgotten Depths

Boring Achievement update, even more boring queues.

Not much to report, just some achievements.

I still haven't really gotten the guts to do a lot of dungeons yet, despite the fact healing the normal as disc went fine.  I'm one point off of queueing for heroics, so I should probably get on doing the rest of my dungeon quests.  I'm sure that's a lot of gimme achievement points too.

Oh, and on a sad note, the easy Darkmoon Faire ticket tricks is blown out of the water.  :(  It seems like you need a decent 500 fishing to actually get all the fish needed in a timely manner for the box.  I imagine its still worth doing, even if its a bit of a grind.  I do wish I got them done before this patch, but thats what I get for procrastinating.

Also, the queue times on my server are simply awful.  I have been playing on my alts on a different server sometimes to avoid it (I am VERY glad I did not move all of my toons.)  Although, lately I have learned that the goldsink mount for this expansion is 2 million gold.

2.  Million.  Gold.

That's a lot, even for me, so I decided to level my herb/miner to take advantage of the beginning ore/herb prices and bank up a bit for the mount.  Unfortunately, that means waiting in the 2+ hour queue.  Oh well, what you going to do, right?

I've hit my dry spell when it comes to obtaining mounts.  After the run of luck I had a little while back, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest, but its still a little bit disappointing.  I also have a list of stuff I need to finish for prior expansions, most of those lists leading to mounts, but that may be a future checklist.

Ah well, here are my achievements.

Achieved:
-Explore Highmountain
-50 World Quests Completed
-Nightfallen But Not Forgotten
-Explore Suramar
-Lazy Eye
-Heroic: Well of Eternity
-Tranquil Master

Back for Legion!

Well, I decided to stop my mini-hiatus and come back for Legion.

So far, Legion isn't too bad.  A few irksome things here or there, but I'm sure it would be that way with any game.

A lot of life changes and business kind of was behind the hiatus, but for now I'm able to play again.  I'm going to start up the 7 achievements a week now that I am 110.

I'm not really working on any particular project now (other than the ever-present mount, pet, and toy grind.)  I guess just getting my gearscore up for raids etc.  So for now I'm just going to focus on getting the achievements and getting more acquainted with the expansion.

Actually, today is Darkmoon Faire, so I'm going to work on getting some tickets.  I found a bunch of new toys I need from there, and I have been working on getting all my music rolls, so no time like the present.  (And for the rep buff. Legion rep grinds are really grindy and slow it seems.)

So, back to playing!

Draenor Pathfinder!!

I finally got it.  And DAMN does it make the game a whole fuck ton easier.

I do have to say, not having flying for this expansion more readily accessible was a big mistake on the part of Blizzard.  The terrain was absolutely obnoxious, I don't really know what possessed them to make a decision like that.  (/sarcasm.  Obviously money.)

Though, grinding the last few treasures (And much thanks to HandyNotes addon for making it a lot less painful than it could have been) really burned me out, so I have been playing a bit less lately.  But I have still managed to nab a few achievements.

Achieved:
-Expert Treasure Hunter
-Builder

Draenor Exalted

One of my main goals for legion was to get all of the Draenor reputations to exalted so it wasn't something I had to deal with when Legion came out.  I was going to grind them out, but I decided if I was willing to drop gold cap on a single mob, why not drop 300,000k or so getting 5ish mounts instead?

So I cheated and used Medallion of the Legion to get all of my reputations to exalted and maxed out.  I'm glad I did, because that really propelled me forward to work on other achievements before Legion comes out (and I know it will come faster than expected.  Hell, its already almost March!)  With those I got some mounts, pets, and toys.  And I figured while I was on a crazy gold-shopping spree I might as well get my alliance motor-bike-thingy 100k.  Doesn't look that awesome, but I would have had to buy it anyway.

To get my Draenor flying (which will hopefully help out other achievements/Tanaan jungle) I have to find 200 treasures.  I don't have the addons to help me with that, but I will be researching what to get. BTW, Nagrandeur was a bitch, only because finding the Ring of Trials breadcrumbs was not easy.

I managed to grab a lot of achievements from this, which is great since I'm going through a life transition right now.  It affords a lot of flexibility for the future.

Achieved:
-Steemwheedle Preservation Society
-Wrynn's Vanguard
-Shatari Defense
-Nagrandeur
-Between Arak and a Hard Place
-Loremaster of Draenor
-Securing Draenor
-Ready for Raiding IV
-Arakkoa Outcasts

Working on WoD flying, Love is in the Air

Luckily, for the most part I was completely caught up on the Love is in the Air Pets and toys and mounts.  The only things I was missing was the Love Rocket (lol, good luck) and the 3 achievements that gave the True Love Prism toy.

It was a pain in the butt, but I got my toy last night.  So now all that there is left to do is hopefully get that stupid mount.  (And that oozeling pet that drops.)  After reading all the moaning on the forums though, I am not holding my breath.  Or I'll get myself all worked up like I do every year for the Headless Horseman's Reins that Do Not Exist.

I got a total of 5 toons to 100, which I guess is fine for now.  What's kind of lame is Legion is going to fall right on that fall cusp, so its going to be hard to get enough toons up to 110 to make a serious effort.  But I'll leave that to the future to worry about.

Other than that, I have been slowly working towards WoD flying.  Its killing my soul.  I make progress but my screen isn't showing progress.  It's so slow.  But I put a big dent into Spires of Arak (bonus: Good Arrakoa rep!) so I'm hoping to finish that up today.

I also finally upgraded my menagerie to level 3, and I've already netted two pets from the upgraded bags.  I didn't realize I'm actually pretty close to my 600 pet achievement, only 13 to go.  I think pretty soon its going to be worth it to actively hunt down those last few.  But first Spires of Arak.

And I actually have achievements to report!

Achieved:
-Merciless Pet Brawler
-It Might Just Save Your Life
-It's the Stones
-Treasure Mission Specialist
-Arak Star
-Love Magnet
-Beacon of Love
-They Really Love Me
-So Grossly Incandescent

The lucky streak continues: Onyxia

I took a break from leveling my hunter and ran to Onyxia's lair and scored an Onyxian drake.  Pretty stoked!

Now I only need Blazing Drake for 'Awake the Drakes' achievement and the Emerald Drake.  The only problem is I haven't figured out how to solo the back of Nefarian.  I really haven't put too much effort into trying, so hopefully its soloable on a lot of my characters.  I can do it fine with the hubby helping me, but he got into this weird game called "Destiny," so he hasn't been on much.  I may have to strike up a deal.

I also managed to snag a Mudback Riverbeast from my shipping yard.  I had to take a break to farm some of the shipyard plans, but it was worth it IMO.

That brings me up to a total of 216 mounts.  Slow progressing, but when you're mount hunting any progress at all (especially 5 mounts in one week!  Incredible!) is awesome.

In another little bit of luck, Eriss finally gave up her Bone Serpent.  Though, I hadn't realized I needed to get my garrison to level 3 for chances at more pets, so I'll have to get on that ASAP.

Leveling has been kind of stagnant as of yesterday, I've been feeling a little under the weather and lost a little bit of steam, but I'm hoping to make some progress tonight.  (Hooray rested and garrison exp potions!)

Progress as of now:
Goblin Hunter: 98
Blood Elf Rogue: 97
Night Elf Druid: 91
Troll Warlock: 88

INVINCIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have achieved my life long WoW goal.

I got Invincible.

I didn't even have to spend a million gold to get him.  I got it on a last minute run of Icecrown Citadel that I hadn't really planned on doing.  So much relief.  I had actually taken a week and a half break because I got burned out on mount hunting (Thanks again, Huolong.)  It gave me another boost of WoW energy.

With that major goal out of the way, the game is actually more fun now.  I think I'll just set my next ultimate goal to getting 300 mounts, and be relatively caught up on this expansion so I don't leave a ton behind to do for the next expansion.  Hopefully I can get all of the reputations to exalted before Legion. Barring any breaks, I don't think that this would be too difficult.

What's awesome is my lucky streak didn't end there: I managed to snag the Drake of the South Wind too.

So thats two instances off of my weekly to-do list. Freeing up time on the to-do list is almost as awesome as getting the mount itself.

Speaking of mount farms, the Love Festival (or whatever it is) is coming up, and I don't have the mount from there, so I figured now would be a good time to blast my way to Quintessential Quintet. I actually have 3 toons I want to get to 100, so that would be six, but I figure the more chances at the mount the better.  (Tough, if Headless Horseman's Reins is any indication, I could have 100 100s and still not get it.  But trying is better than not trying.)

Which cleared off another thing on my to-do lists: Got my 5000g on my mount so I can add my hard-earned Blue Proto-Drake

So far that brings me up to a total of 214 mounts.  (So. Far. Behind.)  But, its nice to know that there is a pit-stop on the 250 mark, I'll be looking forward to that.  Probably my next glut of mounts will come from getting all of my Draenor factions exalted. (Dungeon rep bonus coming up!)

So for now, just leveling alts.  My goblin hunter is 98, my blood elf rogue is 92, and my night elf druid is 91.  My goblin seemed to go fast, but the blood elf seems to be dragging a lot.  On top of this I'm working on their professions as well, because that is one thing I really don't want to leave until Legion.

But of course, there's always real-life to tend to.  I will be actively moving next week, so that is going to put a dent in my progress.  I'm hoping to get at least a couple of my toons to 100 this weekend so I don't have to kill myself next week to get them all to 100.  (I may or may not try to get my troll warlock to 100, since she's 88 that feels like a tall order, but its in the back of my mind.)

-Petty Officer

Cleaning up MoP

So, didn't make it too far in Spires of Arak.

But, I kind of got a second wind looking at the few reputation grinds I have left for Pandaria.  I figured doing anything is better than nothing, and I'd take a trip back to Pandaland to tie up some loose ends.

As of now, I have to finish reputation grinds for:

-Emperor Shaohao
-Kirin Tor Offensive
-Operation Shieldwall
-The Black Prince
-Nat Pagle

The Black Prince...I'm screwed.  Guess I'll be doing Celestials once a week for 40 some weeks.  Too bad for me.

Operation Counter Attack

Analysis Paralysis

Lately I've been feeling a little burned out on WoW.  Probably from the incessant mount farming.  I'm even tired of doing Icecrown Citadel, which is a problem if I don't want to spend gold cap on Invincible.  (If I ever get gold cap, and if the mount ever shows up.)

Last night I looked at all the achievements I was missing and needed to do before the new expansion hit, and instead of freshening the game it made it feel worse.  So many mounts and reputations I have to grind for MoP and WoD....and so many apexis crystals...omg the apexis crystals...

It almost made me want to take another break just because I'm so far behind and it feels overwhelming.  But, I want to narrow it down to a few goals, and I'm sure after that things will fall into place naturally.

I also need to get back on the achieving horse, because the reserve is drying up fast and moving time is coming up soon.  (Yeah, I got half moved and then it was postponed for MONTHS...so I will be in box forts again in the upcoming months.)  So, I just need to get to it.

I think one thing that is going to GREATLY help is getting flying in WoD, so I want to focus on Draenor Pathfinder.  The terrain is just abysmal in this game, and I think that is something that's really sapping the fun out of the game for me.  I'm a good while off.

For today, I'm going to focus on finishing Spires of Arak (I have almost NOTHING done there.)  I don't even know where to get the quests or where I left off.  So, I guess I'm going to half to hunt around.

So, I guess I'll just focus on that.  I have a whole 1 achievement to report.  Slacker.

Obtaining Darkmoon Faire pets

I have been really slacking on all things Darkmoon Faire the last few times it was in town.  I still have a ton of achievements to do for it, but for some reason all the mini games are annoying.

Anyway, I have formulated a plan to get all of the Darkmoon Prize Ticket pets, mounts, and toys in the most efficient way possible.  And it isn't playing minigames.

The best way to get all of the pets and mounts is to fish for 100 darkmoon daggermaw (can be fished in open water anywhere off of the shore) and then buy the Faded Treasure Map off of the Fishing Prizes Vendor (Gallissa Sundew.)  Once you complete the quest, you'll have 100 Darkmoon Prize Tickets.  You can only do it once per character, so you'll have to go through all of your alts to do the quest.

It will also give you the chance to get the Sea Pony pet, if you have no already obtained it.

Its a lot quicker (and less expensive) than trying to do all of the mini games once a day.  But, you can get the quest at level 15, so if you run out of alts just level another one up to 15.  (It won't take long, especially if you have heirlooms.)

1. First clue is in a bag in the tent on the boat. (1)
2. Second clue is in the sand pit underneath the purple toy tiger. (2)
3. Third clue is in the pen with the basilisk, under the head of the Careless Carnie. (3)
4. Fourth clue is underneath the banner of the knight being shot out of a cannon, off the path. (4)
5. The treasure chest is underneath the water in the sunken ship. Complete the quest for the tickets.(5)

I have also finally found the magic combination of my own personal pets to beat both Darkmoon master Pet Tamers.  For some reason these really gave me a hard time, so it was a relief to find a combination that I didn't have to try the same fight over and over to finally RNGwin.

For the Grand Master Pet Tamer (Christoph VonFeasel)

-Wild Crimson Hatchling
-Lil' XT
-Lil' Bling

For the Master Pet Tamer (Jeremy Feasel)

-Wild Crimson Hatchling
-Doom Bloom
-Lil' XT

But neither of them seem to want to give up their pets to me, so no luck on that front.

Other than that, I've only done one achievement: Seaman.  So I've been pretty pathetic on the achievement front.

But, I have snagged another mount: Pureblood Firehawk.  It is cool that its the mount off of Ragnaros, so it shaves a good amount of time off of my mount hunt each week.  Weirdly I've been feeling kind of lazy on the mount farm this week,I need to get my butt in gear and finish.  (Here's hoping for Invincible, prz WoW gods *sacrifices several exploding sheep.*)
